the world.

Ontario, we have identified trends and opportunities in the maple syrup
industry.
The Ontario Maple Seal
of Quality is a voluntary producer-led quality assurance program that allows
Ontario producers to rate their maple operation from the woodlot to the packaged
maple syrup. Producers examine their production practices and identify areas for
improvement to "best" practices. A " commitment to action"
plan is developed by the producer. Industry monitors and government inspectors
ensure compliance with the criteria established by the Ontario Maple Syrup
Producers Association (OMSPA) for the use of the Seal of Quality logo. Consumers
can be confident that the maple syrup they are purchasing has been made by
conscientious Ontario maple syrup producers.
Did
you know that 2/3 of the maple syrup sold in Ontario is imported into the
province? Did you know that export markets exist in Europe and Asia for Canadian
maple syrup? An opportunity exists for Ontario producers to make and market more
Seal of Quality maple products.
